Who We Serve

The youth your organization already shows up for every day.

JB Empire Arts exists for young people who carry more than they can put into words. We work through the organizations that are already in their corner — giving them a safe, creative way to name what they feel and begin to heal.

The Young People We Serve

Youth who need a safe place to feel — and a language to do it.

We serve young people ages 13 to 25, with a focus on foster and system-impacted youth who have experienced trauma, disruption, and loss. These are young people who often don’t have words for what they carry — but they have hands, and eyes, and a story waiting to be expressed.

Art healing gives them a way in. SELM™ gives that experience structure, so the healing isn’t just felt in the room — it’s remembered, repeated, and carried forward.

Who We Partner With

Your organization is the client. The youth are who we serve together.

JB Empire Arts does not work directly with individual youth — we work with the organizations that already have their trust. If your program serves young people and you have a space where they gather, we can bring the workshops to you.

Foster Care & Child Welfare Agencies

Organizations supporting youth in placement, transitioning out of care, or navigating the child welfare system. Art healing meets youth where words often fail.

Youth Mentoring Programs

Programs that pair youth with adult mentors — we bring structured creative programming that strengthens connection and gives mentors new tools for meaningful conversations.

Residential & Transitional Housing

Group homes, transitional living programs, and residential facilities where youth live and need consistent, stabilizing support between case management sessions.

Schools & After-School Programs

K–12 schools, community college programs, and after-school organizations looking to add social-emotional learning and creative expression to their student programming.

Workforce & Transition-Age Youth Programs

Programs supporting youth 18–25 as they enter the workforce, complete education, and build independence. Emotional literacy and identity work directly supports their readiness.

Community Nonprofits

Any community-based organization serving youth facing adversity, trauma, or systemic barriers — if your mission includes their wellbeing, we belong inside it.

What We Support

Outcomes organizations care about and funders ask for.

Every workshop is built around measurable shifts in how youth identify, communicate, and navigate their emotional experience.

01

Emotional Literacy

Helping youth name and understand what they feel — giving language to experiences that often go unspoken and unprocessed.

02

Coping Skills

Giving youth a personal toolkit of art-based strategies they can reach for when emotions get overwhelming — tools that travel with them.

03

Self-Esteem & Confidence

Building a sense of creative competence and personal expression that extends well beyond the workshop room into how youth see themselves.

04

Identity & Self-Reflection

Helping youth see who they are beyond what they’ve been through — reconnecting them with strengths, values, and the story they’re still writing.

05

Staff Wellness

Supporting the adults who support youth. Canopy partners receive dedicated sessions that bring art, breath, and stillness into the workplace for the people carrying the most.

06

Funder-Ready Reporting

Roots and Canopy partners receive outcome snapshots built to share with boards, funders, and program evaluators — documentation that demonstrates impact.

I navigated the foster care system as a teenager. Every workshop I build is designed for the young person I once was.
